Tonights Carriage Crossing ride was highly successful in terms of meeting the goals set forth prior to the ride. These were to have a safe ride, keep the various groups together by setting a reasonable pace, and have fun. The A group rode 29.5 miles at 18.3mph, which was almost exactly the planned speed. Everyone in the group was able to keep up and we stayed together for the entire ride. Thanks to the guys who did most of the work and kept the pace even. The B/C group did slightly less mileage and had averages from 14.6 to 16.6. Again right on target for their objectives. Bill Bell, thanks again for your help. The folks in your group always have very nice things to say about your leadership of the group. Probably the most satisfying thing I get out of this ride is seeing the smiles on the faces of the group when they finish this ride. This ride was designed from the very beginning to be as challenging a ride as possible in a 30-mile/2-hour max ride. Over the course of these ring and summer I have seen improvement in all our regular riders (myself included), as they challenge themselves on this ride. Thanks to everyone who has ridden this with us this year and made this the great ride it has become.
