Tonights Special mtg regarding the proposed Dec capital project will be a question n answer format folks. Limited time for the community to ask questions and limited time for each board member to respond ..limited so all the possible concerns can be addressed in a timely manner. Kudos to the BOE for finally affording the public somewhat of a discussion. The BOE has no transparent and accountable way other than this type of mtg. Please take advantage of this to let them know how you want to be represented. Far too often BOE members mistakenly believe and use their election to say by electing me you were saying you wanted the middle school closed by electing me you wanted football or didnt want football whichever a candidate mistakenly extrapolated is NOT the case. We elect candidates most often because we like and trust those people to represent our wishes. So how can some of the most recent candidate claim they were elected because of one issue? MaryJo was elected without even a debate to know her stance..Jennelle was elected stating neither for or against the middle school until she found out the details..Mrs Geer was elected campaigning in favor of merging football and then once elected voting against it...Joe also was elected without participating in a debate ..Mr Marom said he was in favor of the middle school over the elem and then a new member came on and then he flipped to the elem over the ms..And taina campaigned on no more teacher layoffs and then was the first to let Mr adams go? So many other examples ..too many to list. The point is common sense...how can a boe member represent us if we dont tell them how...tonight you have a chance to ask questions and hear their answers transparently and accountably...no private one answer here and whos to say what answer to someone else elsewhere. Public question...public answer. Now Ive been called a bully before because I pushed to discuss football..a bully now because I push to discuss the middle school and who knows what else I will be called a bully for in the future because I push transparency and accountability and discussion...the ones who are against it have traditionally called me a bully. Its the popular phrase and actually is prefer it over being told by them to go and die in a motorcycle accident..or much more abusive anonymous phone messages and texts...over getting nails in my driveway..or getting anonymous calls to my employer trying to get me fired..or having a husband threaten to knock me out in public. I prefer being publicly humiliated by someone calling names in the paper without an opportunity to defend myself with discussion. I say my opinions publicly with the equal opportunity for anyone to call me out and discuss with me . Interesting how all of those other things I and others have endured arent bullying? By definition..it really its the pot calling the kettle black isnt it. But I rant and digress....the point is transparent and accountable discussion. Tonight YOU have that chance limited as its may be. Will you? Maybe the first question to ask is why havent they done this before regarding such a serious issue? And will they still just do what they feel like irregardless of what the public wants? As I explained earlier...kidding yourself and trying to fool others into believing they were elected based on any one issue stance is just irrational. Go tonight ..ask questions and let them know how you would like to be represented...
