Tonights the Ann Halen & Cruella Show! Ann Halen is a Van Halen tribute band hailing from Novato, California, led by singer extraordinaire Annie Scherer (hence the name Ann Halen). Ann Halen was born in the back yard of drummer Evan Franks house during his annual Summer birthday bash in June of 2013. Originally, the band had a different lead vocalist (Annie was merely singing backup then), an additional guitarist, and was only ever meant to be a one-off; played primarily for the amusement of the musicians and the entertainment of the party guests. After the party, all members agreed that they were on to something special and thought it would be brilliant to form an actual Van Halen tribute band. Due to various logistical and practical reasons, the original lead singer and other guitarist were not able to commit to the project, so it was decided that Annie Scherer, wife of the bands amazingly talented guitar player Gus, would fill the spot of lead vocals. When Annie stepped up after the original vocalists departure, it was bass player Sanford Barnetts brilliant idea to name the band Ann Halen, and from that moment on they have dedicated themselves to performing song-for-song album recreations with note-for note accuracy. The band focuses exclusively on the David Lee Roth era Van Halen tunes, and has been performing to rave reviews ever since their inception. Obviously what sets Ann Halen apart from other tribute bands is the fact that they have an awesome female lead singer (a feature they chose to emphasize instead of downplay), but each member is an accomplished, virtuosic musician in their own right, and together they are an amazing tribute to one of the greatest bands in rock-and-roll history. Cruella is the ultimate all-female Mötley Crüe tribute! Formed in 2012, buzz about the band built quickly and the girls are known for their hard-hitting shows that are true to Crüe. Crüella is playing shows throughout the Bay Area and beyond, and are being met with great enthusiasm by Crüe fans and anyone else that appreciates women who really rock and look great doing it!
