Too early to be divided I am afraid our generation is corrupt - TopicsExpress

Too early to be divided I am afraid our generation is corrupt well ahead of time. This is a sign that the currently systemic patronage, mudslinging, nepotism, lip service, demagoguery and political zealotry shall be inherited unabated by the youths. There have been desperate campaigns, often abusive ones, on social media on the question of whether or not there was a coup in Juba. Rather this is a matter that should be left to the tribunal, the prosecution and the defense to handle, not necessarily making it a big deal for the whole nation. It does not necessarily amount to ignorance when such things less beneficial to the society are kept to the state alone. Dirty politics must be left to its players. Instead of wasting time on the senseless debate on the alleged coup and the fate of the accused plotters, citizens should look at the bigger picture in order to face the realities in the new nation. The youths should refrain from poor scholarship characterized by selfish ideas seemingly driven from ill-informed minds for whatever reason. Collective efforts should be geared towards finding the challenges facing this country to realize prosperity now and forever. The current conflict is best defined as originating from power struggle within the ruling class following dissatisfaction in the implementation modalities of oligarchical collectivism – to borrow Goldstein’s words (George Orwell, 1984). It is just the beginning of the end of South Sudan as a business center for politicians serving extravagant kids and women in foreign lands with less regard to the nation. Where on earth do people expect to remain in the cabinet for life, and when they are relieved they join opposition? For how long should the government accommodate fastidious politicians in the face of poor citizenry? No, not in South Sudan. Not even one cabinet position for any individual. It is not even in heaven, because there are many rumours (or facts?) that the Almighty God is a master who does not tolerate greed. Perhaps those complaining should try hell – it is the only place we have no idea, except for some few weird things. In elementary mathematics, the solution to the current problem is just a matter of simple algebra: N – 7 = N1 (the seven detainees (politicians) released on bail to Kenya) N2 – 4 = N3. (the four currently being tried should be released on bail to country X) Where N is the total number of politicians (both whether in the cabinet or not), and N1---n the result of elimination of category of politicians through detention and release on bail to foreign countries for known or unknown reasons, and with or without trials. Understanding of this mathematical theorem, yet to be named - political thinkers now have a school of thought – is not only necessary but essential in South Sudan. Our concern should now be how to reduce N3. In a country where they are many powerful, aggressive and stubborn politicians, service delivery is a mess, and all efforts for nation building are sabotaged for political reasons, with the view to gaining advantage over one another. Instead of being synergistic or additive in their respective duties, they tend to antagonistic, to their advantage and disadvantage of the poor citizens. Thus, the resultant of all accountability forces is ‘Zero’. Consequently, it is difficult to remove immunity from implicated civil servants, because there is less understanding of the law, or that they become the law. That is what operating as a system means. Some few hard facts help us understand why the mess in our country: Who are the main beneficiaries of the Dura Saga? Who are the 75 officials with cool sums of money in foreign banks? Who owns apartments abroad? Who supports internal rebellions and downplay efforts aimed at achieving peace? Why have they not been prosecuted? As young people, we should employ serious creativity in finding solutions instead of surrendering into opposite camps. Neither would any debate on who did what, when, how and why nor seeking patronage help us at this critical time. This raw politicking aggravated by intellectual dwarfism is as useless as the ongoing war itself. Our hard-won state must be preserved. It cannot be tinted with blood of innocent civilians in the name of seizing power. If some goon has outwitted one in politics, a caring politician would better get to live abroad and survive on their previous loots than to stage a rebellion for the sake of this country; perhaps you will triumph over his ghost in heaven or hell.
