Took Eli to the our wonderful Ophthalmologist Dr Omalley who was the first person to examine Elis eyes after the rupture while he was still in ICU. He was shocked Eli had no damage to the optic nerve. He said that everything is structurally intact and he thinks Elis vision is great from what we can tell so far. The only thing he has trouble with is his upward gaze. He also said the fact that Elijah can bring his eyes in when they stray is a higher brain function and a great sign :) From the first few months after everything, we had no clue if he would ever be able to see. No one was hopeful. Our merciful lord healed our boy!!! Also, a friend who we met in rehab at Childrens, Collin who is a 9 year old boy that had a massive brain bleed as well, said his first words in 7 months today!!! He said I cant, and it hurts. Its amazing how these young boys are healing. So thankful for this journey that The Lord has set us on and the people that we have met. Elijah is truly a miracle boy.
