Took Lincoln and his youngest brother Bishop (aged 9 and 4 respectively) to see Muppets Most Wanted last night. It didnt go as planned. Potential crisis #1: Long snack bar line up moments before the show started. I try not to make the boys wait too long before the movie starts, they get bored fast. Didnt buy any popcorn, but no meltdown. Yay! Potential crisis #2: Monsters University short before the movie. Linc HATES Monster University and actually gets upset if we put it on the TV at home. No meltdown however. Yay again! Potential crisis #3: Bishop (who is not on the spectrum) gets spooked by the evil frog 5 minutes into the movie and demands to go home and tries to leave. I quickly explain to Linc that we have to go and well come back another day. Surprisingly hes OK with this request and doesnt get upset. No meltdown. Yay yet again! Gotta say I was really proud of the way Lincoln handled everything that was thrown at him last night. Really proud in fact. My ASD son is learning to cope with lifes little curve balls :)
