Took the scenic route home from Augusta, GA yesterday and came across these huge cotton bales in Denmark, SC. We had seen a few the size of the round hay bales you see all the time. These were about the size of a 40 truck or container. Covered on top but loose on the sides - we could have dug a tunnel into one of them. Soft as store-bought cotton balls except for the occasional hull. Not quite sure how they hold their shape so well. Very little had blown of onto the ground. Lida is about 6 tall for comparison, and can barely reach the top.
