A tool box talk is an informal group discussion among employees of an individual department that focus on a particular safety issue. •Who can conduct Tool box Talk? Anyone can conduct a Tool box talk. However, it is a good idea to select individuals who have expertise on the given topic. •How long and often these be conducted? Tool box Talk can take Max 15 minutes and some organisation have daily basis. •Where and when should these discussions take place? The meeting should be held in a comfortable location at the beginning of a shift or incorporated into another operational meeting. •Do Tool box talk talks satisfy required safety training? NO, Tool box talk are a brief discussion related to relevant safety issues but they do not replace formal safety training. Tool Box Talk / Safety Talk is a simple way to remind workers that health and safety is important on the job. This deal with specific problem on site but does not replace formal training. It should be carried out on daily basis and prior to starting of any shift or job. Through safety talk can tell workers about health and safety requirements for the tools, equipment, materials and procedures they use every day or for the particular job. Aware the workers about the hazards in the particular jobs and how can eliminate or control it. Can also share previous incident or experience to make it an interesting; new topics related to safety can be communicated in the form to make it more acceptable. Its very important that the information passing through the talk is genuine and reach in the correct way also. Make sure all workers in the meeting can hear and understand the messages.
