Toon Taster “A day not to be missed” was the message from Council Development Chairman, Alderman Bill Kennedy, at the recent announcement of a food taster event to be held in the town centre on Saturday 28th September. Commenting on the promotion the Alderman said: “this taster event is an opportunity to promote the town’s unique and distinct food offer, the excellent local produce, and welcoming service and to encourage visitors to the town.” Local butchers, bakers and greengrocers in the town centre have partnered with Council’s town marketing team to give shoppers and visitors a taste of what the town has to offer. Attractive market stalls at various locations along the main streets in the centre of town will provide taster stops where shoppers can sample products available in local food shops. “Music Mix” by strolling musicians will add to the atmosphere. Many of the local restaurants, cafes and takeaways in the town centre have also joined in, tempting you with “Saturday Specials” on the day – a perfect excuse to eat out. So, Pop downtown on Saturday 28th September, enjoy your shopping experience, see and smell what’s cooking and let us entertain you.
