They have been a part of our oral tradition, dating back before pen and ink, books and not to mention movies. But why do we believe in these tales about common maladies and our health, especially when we live in such a world that is rich with medical expertise and proven treatments and cures? Peer pressure! Family advice! Internet! Sit back and relax. This article is not intended to freak out. In fact, most of the old wives’ tales on this top ten list have proven to be false. But that does not prevent people from freaking out and starting to panic over the truth or false. Here are the ten outrageous old wives tales you should not believe. 10. Don’t go outside with wet hair. You’ll catch a cold: Your mom probably had something to do with you believing in this old wives’ tale. You’ll be glad to know that this tale is false.
