Top executives of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) should - TopicsExpress

Top executives of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) should understand that without good cricket players, their existence will be in question in the near future, no matter how powerful people they are. Shakib Al-Hasan is a Freeman in a free country. He has rights to choose where to go, what to do, where to play, where to go for his professional skills development and personal achievement. There should be no one, even the BCB should never interfere his decision to play for his chosen team in any country of the world. Since the BCB has barred him from national and international tournaments, BCB’s decision could be challenged in the highest court in Bangladesh and also this case can be referred to the international courts against violation of the basic human rights of Shakib. I understood that his wife was disturbed by some so-called VIPs while she was enjoying cricket sitting in the same VIP gallery. Now my question is, did the BCB officially apologise to his wife for their failure to ensure that the gallery was safe place for her including others? Since there was no such example available in Bangladesh and Shakib was well aware of that, he took the revenge against those so-called VIPs. In this particular case, what Shakib did could be compared with the 3rd Law of Sir Isaac Newton, “For every action there is an equal and opposite re-action.” In other words, Shakib did this from his sense of respect for his wife as the BCB and the police failed to take any immediate action against those so-called VIPs. Finally, the BCB is saying he is arrogant; his behaviour is aggressive and so and so. BCB also said, there were more allegations against him but they cannot disclose those allegations. My point is, without having any specific allegations, how did you reach to your final decision? Did you consult with any lawyer who is experienced with the Sports related issues and also did you consult with any lawyer who is experienced with the Human Rights issues? If not, BCB should change their decision with immediate effect and allow this player to play for his millions of fans. Alternatively, BCB will not be able to avoid the consequences for their mistakes.
