Topic for January 2015: Liberty and Anarchy [Please like this post if you agree that this would be a good topic for discussion] One of the goals of Philosophy Dinners is to promote the opportunity to discuss alternative, controversial and often misunderstood philosophies in a safe and respectful atmosphere. Given the recent controversy around police brutality in various countries around the world (not just in the U.S.) I think it would be timely to delve into the political branch of philosophy specifically within the context of libertarianism and anarchism. As Im sure you would agree, it would be completely boring to have a conversation where everyone agrees on everything anyway and I believe that the topic for January will provide a stimulating buffet of ideas with regards to examining the role of government (and invariably human potential and human nature) from within these philosophical perspectives. As per usual, thought-provoking questions will be provided to our discussion facilitators to fuel the discussions.
