Topic for discussion: Are things going to just get worse with new release problems/bugs? It seems that lately, quality is going out of the window on a lot of AAA releases. Driveclub, AC: Unity, BF4 are just some examples that had EPIC game breaking issues on release. Obviously youd expect to see some issues on release, as its impossible for any game to be 100% problem free, but the magnitude of the issues being seen in titles lately is quite shocking in my opinion. I get the impression games companies are putting to much emphasis on oooooh look at this, its shiny and flashy, rather than making sure the core structure and gaming experience is as solid as possible. That, or their testing policies have relaxed... a lot!!! The problem is, what can be done about it? Technically nothing... the industry isnt regulated in this type of area. There was the case when people tried to sue for the state of BF4 and that didnt go anywhere. Theres always the stance that your covered by of returning the game, but that becomes tricky if there was DLC and youve redeemed the key. I think its a sorry state of affairs lately and I cant see it getting any better going by the latest trends. I miss the days where I was genuinely excited for upcoming releases, whereas now I always think well lets hold off and see what kind of problems it has first.
