Towards the end of WWII, in 1944, U.S. fighter pilot Bill Overstreet flew his P-51C, the Berlin Express, in a dogfight with a German fighter over Paris. In the heat of the chase, his opponent dove and flew beneath the Eiffel Tower, but hot on his tail, Overstreet incredibly followed the plane underneath the tower, shot down the plane, and then while evading anti-aircraft fire, flew at full-throttle along the river to safety! Bill Overstreet passed away last week and America lost a great hero. What an example of service while staring fear in the face! Check out his amazing story.
