Track Worker Career Opportunity 81243 09/26/14 - 10/09/2014 100% Hourly Rate of Pay: $31.990*(See Wage Progression Table) Application deadline 10/08/2014 Summary Responsible to construct and maintain track infrastructure to a state of good repair. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Perform track maintenance and construction work, which includes gauging, lubricating, carrying rails and ties, putting down ballast, laying and splicing rails and ties, and general clean-up work on the Right-of-Way. Qualifications - A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent (GED) approved by a States Department of Education or recognized accredited organization. -Ability to use hammers, wrenches and other basic tools. -Ability to lift, carry and be involved in outdoor physical activity in all weather conditions. -Must possess satisfactory work records including attendance, safety and discipline. Preferred/Desirable Skills/Qualifications: -Training or experience in welding, mechanics, heavy equipment operation and truck driving.
