Traffic Advisory India International Trade Fair, 2014 India International Trade Fair, 2014 is being organized at Pragati Maidan from 14th to 27th November, 2014. The Trade Fair attracts about a lakh visitors on each day. Because of the Trade Fair rush, traffic congestion is expected on the days of Fair at Mathura Road, Bhairon Marg, Ring Road, Shershah Road and Purana Quila Road. People not connected to Trade Fair may take alternative routes to avoid congestion. TIMINGS Entry to the Fair will be restricted for business visitors only from 14th to 18th November, 2014. Trade Fair will be open for general public from 19th to 27th November, 2014. There will be no entry for Trade Fair after 5.30 p.m. on all days. Tickets will be sold from 9.30 am to 2.00 p.m. on weekends/holidays and from 9.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. on weekdays. Sale of tickets & entry to fair grounds could be closed earlier in the interest of public safety. TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS AND DIVERSIONS To ensure smooth regulation and movement of traffic on the immediate roads surrounding Pragati Maidan, Traffic Police will take following measures: i) No vehicle will be allowed to halt or park anywhere on Mathura Road and Bhairon Marg. There will also be no parking by visitors on Sher Shah Road, Purana Quila Road, Bhagwan Dass Road and Tilak Marg. ii) Vehicles found parked on the above roads shall be towed away and prosecuted with fine of Rs. 600/- (excluding towing charges) for improper parking and disobedience of lawful instructions. iii) U-turn on Mathura Road, between ‘W’ Point and intersection of Dr. Zakir Hussain Marg, will be prohibited. Right turn from Mathura Road to Purana Quila Road and Bhagwan Das Road will also not be allowed. HOW TO VISIT TRADE FAIR i) People can visit Trade Fair by using Metro train and alight at Pragati Maidan Metro station. Those using DTC buses for travelling from Delhi or NCR can alight at designated bus stops on Mathura Road and Bhairon Marg. ii) Those who want to use their own vehicles for reaching Pragati Maidan must avail “Park & Ride” facility specially provided for this purpose at two locations i.e. parking behind water channels along Rajpath, on both sides, between ‘C’ Hexagon and Man Singh Road and the Radial Roads around India Gates namely Dr. Zakir Hussain Marg Radial, Shahjahan Road Radial, Kasturba Gandhi Marg Radial and Tilak Marg Radial. From the above Park & Ride locations, there will be free shuttle service to take visitors to the gates of Pragati Maidan located on Mathura Road and Bhairon Road. iii) These coming for trade fair can also use the Zoo Parking on Mathura Road on payment basis. ROUTE OF “PARK & RIDE” SHUTTLE SERVICE a) From Man Singh Road Man Singh Road – R/A Jaswant Singh Place – Ashoka Road – ‘C’ Hexagon – Tilak Marg – Turn Right - Bhagwan Dass Road – Turn Right – Mathura Road – Turn Left – Bhairon Road – ‘U’ Turn from loop in front Gate No. 1, Pragati Maidan – Bhairon Road – Turn Right – Mathura Road – Turn Left – Bhagwan Dass Road – Turn Left – Tilak Marg – Turn Left – ‘C’ Hexagon – Turn Left Akbar Road - Turn Right from R/A Man Singh Road – Man Singh Road b) From Radials of India Gate Exit from Kasturba Gandhi Radial - ‘C’ Hexagon – Tilak Marg – Turn Right - Bhagwan Dass Road – Turn Right – Mathura Road – Turn Left – Bhairon Road – ‘U’ Turn from loop in front Gate No. 1, Pragati Maidan – Bhairon Road – Turn Right – Mathura Road – Turn Left – Bhagwan Dass Road – Turn Left – Tilak Marg – Turn Left – ‘C’ Hexagon – Turn Right and Enter from National Stadium Radial. The “Park & Ride” route has been planned to cater to maximum number of visitors to drop / pick them from Mathura Road and Bhairon Road. PRE-PAID TSR FACILITY Pre-paid TSR facility will be available for visitors at Gate No. 9 on Mathura Road and Gate No. 2 on Bhairon Marg. TICKETS FOR TRADE FAIR Tickets for the Trade Fair can be bought from selected Metro station in Delhi or NCR and also from Gate Nos. 1 & 2 of Pragati Maidan at Bhairon Marg. There shall be no sale of tickets for the Fair anywhere else. ROUND ROBIN SHUTTLES There will be Round Robin DTC Shuttle service on Mathura Road, Bhairon Road, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg to connect all Metro Stations and bus stands in and around Pragati Maidan. People can use this Round Robin Shuttle for entry and exit from Pragati Maidan and connecting to Metro Stations, Pre-Paid TSR facility and Park & Ride facilities. PEDESTRIAN FOOT OVER BRIDGES There will be heavy pedestrian movement on Mathura Road. As heavy traffic is expected to ply on this road throughout the day, people should use the three foot over bridges on Mathura Road. There is also an underpass for crossing the road by people at Bhairon Marg. SECURITY PRECAUTIONS People are advised not to touch unclaimed objects as these could be dangerous. There will be CCTV coverage for watch against anti social elements. People should be careful of pick-pockets and eve-teasers. There will be continuous presence of police to assist people in times of need. People can call telephone nos. 100 & 25844444 for assistance of police and traffic police.
