Traffic Congestion Knocklyon Heigts - GaelScoil Chnoc Liamhna. Note from Cait Keane Senator Fine Gael. I was contacted by some of you over recent months in relation to ongoing and troublesome parking issues around the entrance to Galescoil Chnoc Liamhna and congestion/disruption around the Knocklyon Heights vicinity. I understand that parking has been a problem for some time and that residents are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the situation. I contacted South Dublin County Council about the issue and they have reverted to me. I have made representations to the Principal of the School as well who has informed that they are more than happy to cooperate with the Council, the local Gardaí and parents alike to resolve the matter. I personally made some suggestions that might go some in solving the issue. For example, a walking bus might be a good way to alleviate traffic congestion around the estate at peak times. Enforcement of parking/traffic rules around the area has been identified as a key priority and of course involves full cooperation of all parties involved. I have been assured by the local Garda Inspector, Michael Mangan, that the Gardaí are doing all they can in terms of sending out officers at key times to ensure compliance with the traffic laws. The matter was due to be discussed last night at South Dublin County Councils Traffic meeting and I will be seeking an update on how that meeting went in due course. I will be in contact with you soon and in the mean time, I do of course, appreciate any feedback or comments from you on this or any other matter. Best regards, Cáit.
