Traffic cop beats Xylo driverto pulp Srinagar: A Xylo driver Thursday alleged that a traffic cop on duty at Nishat garden beat him to pulp in front of outside tourists. “The traffic sub-inspector namely Abdul Hamid violated all the norms and thrashed me like an animal,” driver Javid Ahmed told CNS. He said that he was waiting for the tourists who had entered into Nishat Garden. “The cop directed me to remove the vehicle. Suddenlytourists arrived and they boarded on the vehicle and this process consumed few minutes. The cop pounced on me and thrashed me severely. Blood oozed out from my mouth,” he said. One of the touristssaid that he was shocked to see the behavior of traffic officer. “The cop not only beat our driver to pulp but also hurledunwanted abuses. We all were stunned at his behavior,” he said. When contacted, Superintendent of Police Traffic, Haseeb-ur-Rehma n told CNS that there is no such cop by thisname (Abdul Hamid). “There is an officer whose name is Aijaz Ahmed. Let them verify who was this officer,” he said.+admin safdar
