¤Tragedy In Anambra: 7 Pupils Dead, Many Injured: Thirty pupils of the Community Secondary School, Umuokpu, Awka, and Union Secondary School, Amawbia located in Anambra were hit by the car, which lost control while riding along the old Onitsha-Enugu Expressway. Immediately after the tragedy had occurred 7 students were feared killed and 10 others severely injured, with head, limb and body affected. Among the victims there was also one old man, who had his right leg broken, his right eye cut open and a whitish substance oozing out of his forehead. It has been reported that the automobile, Toyota Camry, driver, also injured in the accident, managed to get out of the car and catch a passing cab. All the victims were rushed to the nearby hospitals. The state FRSC confirmed the accident.
