Trained as a mechanical engineer, but an accomplished - TopicsExpress

Trained as a mechanical engineer, but an accomplished everything-engineer, there really isnt anything my father cant seem to build. Some of my favorite memories as a child were the excitement of learning that something new was going up; whether it be helping nail in the open wind atop just-placed rafters of a new building higher than the tree line, learning about water mixtures and pouring concrete (and lime concrete burns), flipping houses, building lakes, building a radio tower, or converting a corn silo in to a world class aquarium, I know there is nothing he wont take from a dream to an extraordinary realization. I couldnt be more proud of him. My father is an entrepreneur by heart. From a humble start in what was once a hog sales building, they built their aquarium manufacturing business from nothing. Two decades later, Glasscages is the largest custom aquarium company out there-- but yet, one rule persisted at home, per my mother, No fish in the house. A few years ago they set out to build a hybrid greenhouse (pictured) that would bring together both plants and exotic fish in an immersive environment a whole four whopping stories tall. With waterfalls, plants and trees of all sizes, fruits, winding paths, and pools of unimaginably beautiful fish at every turn. Then, for good measure, they built it right against a barn converted to a wedding chapel, and threw in a meeting center capable of hosting hundreds of guests. Who could think of anything missing from that? Unfathomably, last night the three adjoined centers were decimated by fire. The corn silo turned to three story marine fish aquarium *is* still there though. And my dad is *only* 72. And the fire did leave a couple pads of concrete on the ground. Do you have any idea how much time thatll save?
