Trainee CAD Technician Bury Associates carry out land and measured building surveys throughout the UK. We are one of the UK’s leading companies in the area of laser scanning buildings and creating 3D Building Information Models of them from the scan data. We are looking for an enthusiastic recent college or school leaver to join our team as a Trainee CAD Technician. The role will primarily involve processing 3D point cloud data captured by our surveyors using the latest laser scanners, and assisting the team in creating highly detailed architectural CAD drawings. Candidates should have a good qualification in a technical subject and have an interest in 3D computer modelling or CAD. Full training will be provided with long term opportunities for a rewarding career. This position is based at our office near Ombersley just outside Worcester. Key responsibilities / duties to include: Converting point cloud data so it can be used create 2d drawings and 3D computer models of existing building. Creating plans, sections & elevations of buildings in Autocad from survey data. Skills/Qualifications: Good technical qualification or suitable experience in CAD or construction. A good team player with good communication skills. Competence in the use of Microsoft Office. The following additional skills would also be helpful but are not essential: Experience in using Autocad. Experience of using computer modelling software (Revit, Microstation, 3DS Max, Rhino, Sketchup). Knowledge of materials and construction method. Knowledge of surveying systems and methods.
