Trainer Tip of the Day: This is an alternative exercise to the leg curl machine. Your hamstrings perform 2 movements, knee flexion and hip extension. The leg curl machine works only knee flexion whereas this exercise works both hamstring functions at once. It will not only help you activate your leg muscles but will also help with developing a stronger core and balance. To do, lie on your back with legs straight, heels on ball. Raise your hips by pressing your heels into ball until legs are straight. Keep your hips raised as you roll the ball towards you by bending your knees. Continue rolling out and back towards you for 10 to 12 reps.
