We are the problem ecologically speaking or at least our patterns of consumption are most notably our diets but also our general shopping patterns. I leave my reuse bags in the boot of the car and generally dont find myself looking for plastic bags. I also recycle all my household plastics and have just now joined the Plastic Bank Social Plastic Movement. Still Im shocked by the amount of plastic in general use and wonder about how it might be replaced which is why Ive decided to grown New Zealand Flax and Hemp experimentally. The big push needs to be on the demand side where hydrocarbons are concerned, including plastics. We also need to look to the wild biomes, foremost of which are the oceans, as global commons and act collectively to save them. @paulvcassidy
