Transition discussion – The Opt Out of the establishment/Opt Into Freedom Vote Time for some critical thinking! Over the past several months we have talked about transition towns, currencies, various projects for moving forward - but I want to take a step back to the original premise of the Common Ground Project. One of my original reasons for creating this group was to bring together all activist organizations and fellow humans who recognize that there are problems with our system. The group was also created so that we humans can opt out of the current socioeconomic model – since most efforts towards a more peaceful and sustainable future all fall within the guidelines of the establishment. We are restricted to establishment laws, establishment currency, and establishment, elite interests. We the people longer wish to support that which harms us, our planet, and our fellow man. I created this list as an image graphic before, and I didn’t get any replies. Well, I’m posting this again, in text form so that everything is visible, and we can get some dialog going. For all who advocate an idea for the future of mankind, please go through the list and post your ideas. For those who aren’t sure of what direction they would want to go in the transition, please read the responses of all the various organization members, and see what makes the most sense to you. By doing this, we can start working on the crux of the transition, and that is moving out from under the power of the establishment. We did not give them permission to own all land, all resources, and make all the rules for the way we should live our lives. We were born into this with no freedom to choose another path. We will make our own path! We want to opt in to freedom! Participate in a vote that matters! A. Rate the topics below by level of importance. B. All Activist groups and Independent Parties/individuals can make their case in each topic for why their ideas would best benefit society. C. The People choose to support and initiate new ideas based on the concepts presented by each group or party. 1. POLITICS & GOVERNMENT Please discuss problems with the current political system, and possible solutions or alternatives to operations of society. 2. SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY Please discuss problems with current science and technology applications in society, and how these fields can be improved. 3. EDUCATION Please discuss problems with the current education system and ideas as to how it can be improved. 4. HEALTH Please discuss problems with the current health of society, as well as healthcare, and possible solutions and alternatives 5. THE MONETARY SYSTEM Please discuss the problems with the current monetary structure, and possible solutions and alternatives 6. THE MILITARY Please discuss problems with the current military structure, and possible solutions and alternatives 7. CRIME Please discuss the problems with the way criminals are handled, as well as the prison system, and possible solutions and alternatives 8. LAW Please discuss the problems with the current legal system, and possible solutions and alternatives 9. HUMAN RIGHTS/PERSONAL FREEDOMS Please discuss the problems with the violation of human rights, as well as unjust punishments for personal freedoms, and possible solutions and alternatives 10.
