Travel tip for my Canadian friends. It used to be that the two national airlines, Air Canada and WestJet, pretty much exactly matched each others pricing during seat sales. Even if only one was advertising a sale, the other would match the prices automatically on their flight closest to the same time on the same day. But, for whatever reason, Im consistently seeing significantly lower prices on WestJet (even right now, during putatively an Air Canada seat sale). I like my frequent-flyer status with Air Canada but not enough to pay 15% or more for their seats. I dont know how long this will last, but its been going on for a while now, so it pays to check both carriers before you book.
