Traveled all day to Arizona to see my daughter Amy to wish her - TopicsExpress

Traveled all day to Arizona to see my daughter Amy to wish her happy birthday and have few hours with her tomorrow. I was going to camp out river guide fashion under the stars. A friend suggested I find a place to sleep that would have a shower and a bed. I had not planned that far in advance. Well.. directions to find a hotel did not go well, and I ended up in a very humble motel, only one car in the parking lot when I went to check in. As I got my key from a little German Grandpa and as I went to open the door to the office, on the other side was a man in a wheelchair - a big guy- who was really spent physically. He asked if I would hold the door for him, which I did as he wheeled himself into the very tight office space. As I walked to my room, I had an impression to keep an eye on him. I got settled and peeked out the window to see the little German Grandpa wheeling this guy to a room. Thought all was okay. I came into my very humble quarters, and didnt have the wifi password, and there are no phones in this 1960s motel. So.. went back to the office to get a passcode, and noticed the door next to my room, was wide open.. as I got back to the office, the guy in the wheelchair was crying, no strength to climb back into his van to move it near his room. Bedsores from being in his chair. I helped him move his van near his room. Helped him unload and move his gear into his room. He started to share his story. He was shot by car jackers, left him paralyzed. He is not well emotionally, physically, needing surgery to remove the bullet, but he has not much to live for. He has twin girls who he had to send to live with their mother as he cant provide for them. He saw a guy begging on the streets today, and gave the beggar $20 and said, You need this more than me, I might not be alive in a few weeks.. This encounter was not happenstance. We talked a long time tonight, then said goodnight after I prayed in a dark parking lot for him to find some hope, and the Spirit came. We both cried. I shared stories of my friends, who overcame great physical challenges, Curt Brinkman and Mike Schlappi,. Was able to order a video and m Mikes book online which should be delivered in a few days and I hope will provide this man a new outlook on life. My life has not been easy in the past decade and heartbreaks have been plentiful, but tonight I was humbled - and perspective as to my blessings remembered. It was not an accident that I ended up at this modest motel, perhaps I will be flea bitten in the morning, but I know I was meant to be here. I have an address for this man, who is in need of hope, faith and prayers. If anyone wants to PM me and has inspiration as to any outreach they might offer, I will help connect the dots. Sean McGuire is in need of your prayers.
