Travelling between Portree and Fort William today I was somewhat angered,horrified and disgusted with the current state of the Glengarry View Point on the A87 The large metal wheelie bin sited in the lay-by is full to overflowing and there are some 15- 20 black/white bin liners lying next to it.With the current weather conditions (and possibly carrion/foxes) these refuse bags have opened and the litter surrounding same is nothing short of a disgrace. The Glengarry View Point is favourite stop of point to many tourists and coach parties travelling west.What they must think of the Highlands when they see this mess I dont know. I would hate to think what is at the bottom of this bin because you cant tell me this was filled in the last few days or weeks.I can only suspect who is responsible for the uplift of the bin and I intend to write a strongly worded email about their negligence and the embarrassment they causing.How much would it cost to send out a refuse vehicle and what damage is being done to the tourist industry while we wait. Year of home coming ?????
