Tribute by Lamisi Dabire ... Komla had a sense of humor ...... For those of you who may not know, i worked with Komla Dumor at Joy Fm as a Broadcast Journalist for a number of years. One-day whiles on duty on a Sunday i had to read the news. There was a story about Augusto Pinochet (Chilean Dictator), yours truly pronounced the name as Augusto Pinocchio (guess a result of reading too much about Pinocchio ,a fictional character in a children’s book with a long pointed wooden nose as child) When returned to the news room, my colleague Isaac Cudjoe was on the phone laughing his heart out and on the side was Komla Dumor obviously having a good time at my expense. Komla in his usual humorous self, did not end the laughter on the fateful Sunday but continue for three solid day. A listener who tired of hearing him poking at me, called the studio and “scolded him” for making fun of me for three day. He demanded, the joke must stop. I know this because Komla himself told me, when he apologized and said he meant no harm. We both laughed about it. Though I was seriously embarrassed by the Pinocchio episode, i was comforted by Komla apology. Such was the man we have just lost. RIP Boss Player!
