Tribute paid to cop officer with State honour at Kokrajhar (Two NDFB cadres killed by security forces in Monglajhora) From our Correspondent KOKRAJHAR, September 27: The police and district administration, Kokrajhar today paid tribute to police officer Narayan Chandra Barman, the In–charge of Rupsi police outpost and driver Madan Ray who were killed in an ambush laid by NDFB (Songbijit) on September 26 with State honour at Police Reserve, Kokrajhar. Meanwhile, two NDFB (S) cadres have been killed in an encounter at Monglajhora in Porbotjhora sub–division today morning at 8 am who were reportedly involved in the ambush of police personnel at Malotijhora in same sub–division in the district. EM of BTC Derhasat Basumatary paid floral tribute to the departed police officer and the driver. IGP, BTC GP Singh, Deputy Commissioner Nitin Kumar Khade, and others paid tribute. Talking to media persons, IGP, BTC GP Singh said strong security measure has been taken to curb the activities of militant groups operating in the region. He also said the security has been beefed up against the terror operatives and search operation has been conducted to nab the militants involved in the ambush at Malotijhora on Friday. Police officer said that there were six guerrillas who had ambushed the police vehicle at Malotijhora killing a police officer and a driver on the spot. “The police have identified all the cadres involved in the ambush and out of them, two were killed today in the morning in a joint operation at Manglajhora under Porbotjhora sub–division”, he said. Additional SP Surjit Singh Paneswar while talking to reporters said two NDFB (Songbijit) have been killed today morning at Monglajhora at 8 am. The slain militants have been identified as Mono Kr Basumatary alias B Musuka of Paglijhora and Pradip Kr Brahma alias B Tepra of Datgari, Kajigaon of Porbotjhora sub–division. The security forces recovered an AK–47 rifle, 32 live ammunition of AK–47, two hand grenades, one 7.62 pistol with four rounds and two mobile hand sets from their possession. Paneswar said operation against the NDFB (S) was going on in the area. He also said the militants who were killed in an encounter at Monglajhora today were involved in the ambush at Malotijhora. He further said vital clues have been established who were involved in the action at Malotijhora.
