Trinamool activist found dead. BURDWAN: A 40-year-old Trinamool Congress activist was found hanging from a mango tree at Nola village in Burdwan on Sunday morning. The Trinamool accused CPM-backed goons of abducting and killing Babloo Mollah, while the CPM denied the allegations. The body was discovered by Trinamool activists who had taken out a bike rally. Party supporters said they were passing by when they saw Babloo hanging from the tree with a gamccha (towel) around his neck. They alerted the cops, after which DSP Amlan Ghosh and IC Dilip Ganguly reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem at Burdwan Medical College Hospital. Minister Swapan Debnath said Mollah was a Trinamool activist. "The CPM goons abducted him at 4pm yesterday and murdered him. His body was then hung from the tree," Debnath alleged. Demanding punishment for the guilty, he alleged that the CPM was trying to unleash a "reign of terror" before the panchayat polls. Amal Haldar, district secretary of CPM, denied the allegations and said his party had nothing to do with the murder. Burdwan SP SMH Meerza said a case of unnatural death was registered and that a probe had been started. "We are waiting for the postmortem report. So far, nobody has been arrested," Meerza added. Babloo Mollah (40), a trinamul congress activist of Nola Village under Belkash Gram Panchayet area of Burdwan Sadar Police Station area has been found hanging from a mango tree here this morning. Trinamul congress has alleged that yesterday he has been abducted while he was erecting party falgs in the village at around 4 PM. Swapan Debnath, local minister alleged that Babloo Mollah was an active trinamul congress activist but the CPM goons have abducted him and killed him and hang him in the tree. He demanded punishment of the guilty and garlanded the dead body. By killing him CPM is trying to unleash a reign of terror before panchayet polls, he alleged. Today the trinamul bike rally was passing by the mango tree when they saw the deadbody hanging in gamcha. Immedaitely police was informed and DSP, Amlan Ghosh and IC Dilip Ganguly rushed to the spot and sent the dead body for post mortem at Burdwan Medical College Hospital. SMH Meerza, SP of Burdwan said that an unnatural death case has been registered and police has started a probe. " We are waiting for post mortem report and so far nobody has been arrested,"Meerza added.TOI
