Trinidad and Tobago participates in the Eighth United Kingdom-Caribbean Ministerial Forum – 17th June, 2014 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- • The Honourable Winston Dookeran, Minister of Foreign Affairs called for developed countries and financial bodies to take stock of the special circumstances of Caribbean states. This statement was made during his address to participants at the First Plenary Session of the Eighth United Kingdom (UK) – Caribbean Forum on Monday 16th June, 2014. In his presentation, which focused on Economic Resilience within the broader theme of working together for Economic Development, Minister Dookeran highlighted that although all countries faced diverse challenges on the road to prosperity, the uniqueness of small and developing states posed a particular difficulty in attaining and maintaining sustainable development.
