Trivia Tuesday answer is .... Wow. Great answers. MRI relies in a very powerful uniform magnetic field to generate images. Standard open MRI scanners have lower "magnetic field strenght" which may result in lower quality images. The machine operated by Finger Lakes Radiology is a SIEMENS MAGNETOM ESPREE. It has an OPEN BORE design which is different than a "open MRI". This machine offers the best of both worlds. It has a very large internal bore (26 inches) and is only 49 inches long. At the same time it has the same magnetic field of a conventional MRI scanner. Great images are generated with great comfort and without sacrificing image quality.
