Tropical Storm Andrea is our first named storm of the 2013 - TopicsExpress

Tropical Storm Andrea is our first named storm of the 2013 Hurricane Season. A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for the west coast of Florida from Boca Grande to Ochlockonee River. Andrea is moving toward the north at 3 mph. A northeastern motion at a faster forward speed is expected on Thursday with that general motion continuing through Friday. The center of Andrea is forecast to reach the coast of the Florida Big Bend Thursday afternoon or evening then move over southern Georgia and eastern South Carolina Thursday night and Friday. Andrea has maximum sustained winds of 40 mph making it a weak tropical storm and little change in its strength is expected over the next 48 hours. The rainfall forecast still indicates we could see the heaviest rainfall around our Coastal Corridor (2-4") with lower rainfall further inland.
