Tropical Storm "EMONG" PAGASA Track as of 8 a.m., 18 June 2013 Weather Bulletin Number FIVE Tropical Cyclone Alert: Tropical Storm "EMONG" Issued at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, 18 June 2013 "EMONG" has intensified into tropical storm and has accelerated in a northerly direction. Location of Center: (as of 10:00 a.m.) 460 km East of Tuguegarao, , Cagayan Coordinates: 17.3°N, 126.5°E Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up 80 kph Movement: North at 19 kph Forecast Positions/Outlook: Wednesday morning: 470 km East of Basco, Batanes Thursday morning: 830 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes out of Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) No Public Storm Warning Signals Raised Estimated rainfall within the 400 km diameter of the Tropical Storm is from 5 - 15 mm per hour (moderate - heavy). Tropical Storm "EMONG" is still far to directly affect any part of the country. However, it will enhance the Southwest Monsoon which will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over Southern Luzon, Visayas and Northern Mindanao. Fishermen specially using small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon and western seaboards of Southern Luzon due to big waves generated by Tropical Storm "EMONG". The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 p.m. today.
