Tropical Storm Norbert continues to weaken - maximum sustained - TopicsExpress

Tropical Storm Norbert continues to weaken - maximum sustained winds are now 50 mph. It should become a remnant low on Monday. Norbert is centered about 180 miles west-southwest of Punta Eugenia, Mexico, as of 5 p.m. EDT / 2 p.m. PDT and moving toward the west-northwest. The forecast track keeps Norberts center offshore of the west coast of Baja California peninsula during the next couple of days. Large swells associated with Norbert are impacting the west coast of the Baja California peninsula and the southern California coastline. These swells will produce dangerous and life-threatening surf conditions and rip currents for the next couple of days. Although the system is weakening quickly, tropical moisture associated with Norbert and the Pacific ITCZ (Intertropical Convergence Zone) will continue to spread northward across northern Mexico and the southwestern United States. This could result in heavy rains and life-threatening flash flooding in these area during the next day or two.
