Tropical Update: We currently have tropical storm Karen in the Gulf of Mexico, she is just shy of Hurricane strength and is expected to become a hurricane early as overnight or tomorrow.. The big question for us is the impact Karen will potentially have for us by the beginning of next week. A cold front sweeping in from our west may absorb the tropical moisture from the remnants of Karen causing a tropical enhanced rainfall across the region. While we know this is a possibility, we are uncertain as to how these features will come together, which will depend not only on the speed of the approaching front, but the eventual track of Karen , which appears will make landfall somewhere along the gulf coast. As more details become available we will be able to hone down on the exact timing and projected rainfall which at the moment could be anywhere from 1-4 inches of rain. Luckily we have had quite the dry spell over the last few weeks and "some" rain will be welcome. Hope this answers some questions into how Karen may impact us in the HV...
