Troy E. Emery just called me with an update on Billy Wood... Posting it here because my phone had to be put on the charger before its battery died completely! The surgery preceding Dads had some complications and took much longer than anticipated, so he hasnt even gone into the O.R. yet. They called Hannelore Wood back to visit with Dad a bit before they completely knocked him out. She was back there while Troy called me. Once they have the O.R. all cleaned and ready they will be taking him back. Not sure how long they think his surgery will take, but they are quite concerned about how bad his leg might really be!?!?! Probably wont know more until they are finished, which might not be until after lunch. I know that yesterdays pre-admission appointment went really well and that they all had a nice time hitting some of the local shops before going to the hotel. The hotel is wonderful and if necessary they will certainly stay there again! They had dinner at the Panera Bread over by TCU where weve eaten before with Scarlet Sunset Sears and her kids. Not sure where Troy will take Mom for lunch today, but with her diabetes and nerves he knows they will have to go eat something soon, maybe even while Dad is still in surgery. I hate being stuck here at the farm while they are in Fort Worth, but know that Troy is taking very good care of them! Once the surgery is over and Dads in recovery Troy and Mom will come back here to the farm. Mom will be staying with us for the day or two that they keep Dad in the hospital and then well all go back to FTW together to pick him up before taking them home to Gorman. That is the official plan at this time.
