True Blood’s Kristin Bauer van Straten wants Starbucks to put a lid on plastic waste. Kristin Bauer has created a petition challenging Starbucks lid policy, saying that it is wasteful. “Starbucks sells approximately 4 billion cups of coffee a year — that’s BILLIONS of plastic lids winding up in landfills EVERY YEAR,” the actress says in her petition. Kristin simply wants Starbucks to allow customers to have the option to opt out of taking a lid. She claims that, “Hundreds of thousands of pounds of plastic could be kept out of landfills.”
