True friendship is seen through the heart and the way a person feels about someone. Actions speak louder than words in friendship. If someone is feeling depressed then the friend should be there to cheer them up. Friendships are very much about give and take. Someone cannot do all the giving without feeling used and abused. Alternatively, a true friend cannot do all the taking without feeling guilty and not giving anything back, in return. Friendship is give and take. True friendships meet in the middle and compromise without hurting one another’s feelings. True friendships only happen a couple of times in a lifetime and should be treasured. A person can be a friend without being a true friend. A person may acknowledge someone and be friendly with them without putting themselves out for that person. A true friend would sacrifice a lot so that they can be a good friend.
