True or false, Bugs Bunny is a US Marine? The answer to this is true, during the 1943 cartoon titled Super Rabbit, Bugs is confronted by a rather large man who has eaten some government-created, genetically-enhanced carrots that were meant for Bugs. When he sees the man, he says THIS looks like a job for a REAL superman!, so he goes into a booth, and emerges a few seconds later wearing a Sergeant of Marines Dress Blue Alpha Coat with an M1 on his left shoulder, singing the Marines Hymn. The Marine Corps was so excited to have Bugs Bunny become a Marine on April 3, 1943 (Air date of Super Rabbit), that they decided to make Bugs an Honorary Marine. Bugs enlisted as a Private and got promoted regularly throughout the war until at the end he was discharged as an Honorary Marine Master Sergeant.
