True story! As reported in the DENTAL TRIBUNE Asia Pacific Edition No. 9/2014, Surgeons in Saudi Arabia have found a white bony mass inside the nose of a 22-year-old, which they identified later to be an extra tooth growing in the young man’s left nasal cavity. While extra teeth or “supernumerary” teeth are common in the mouth, they are quite rare when they turn up elsewhere. One theory is that the newly germinating tooth in the embryo gets lost and travels away from its correct position, in this case the base of the nasal cavity. The patient underwent endoscopic extraction of the supernumerary tooth under general anaesthesia. dental-tribune/printarchive/download/document/29957/file/0674f83260ad18101c8a8b03c7048e2e_2-3.pdf
