True that Denvers running game did not perform yesterday. Yet . . . I think the problem is more than that. For one thing, Seattles defense commonly had 7 and sometimes 8 guys jammed in tight. In other words, they are playing for the run because -- at the same time (and this is heresy to say it) -- Denvers passing game is predominantly a short pass offense with the passes triggered so quick (a good thing, of course) that no real pass rush is going to reach Manning before he throws the ball. So the Defense plays the run tough, first priority, and the secondary plays a 20 yard field in defending against the actual pass. Well see more teams defend Denver the way Seattle did. Two cents worth. Coach Fox is not calling to ask what I think.
