School of Health Science Meru university was established in 1960 as Meru College of Technology( Mecotech) it later opened its doors for the first bunch of students in 1984. Up to date, it has two campuses, the main campus, Meru town campus and yet another, Marimba campus is in the process. It attained the so calleduniversity name in the year 2008 and admitted the fist banch of students taking degree courses through jab in 2009. S o far the graduation ceremonies are less than three for degree grandaunts. UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI. The idea of government to establish a institution of higher learning goes back to the year 1952. The institution was then established in 1954 and opened its doors for the first lot of students in 1956 and the name Royal College of Nairobi. In 1970 it became an independent university and was named University of Nairobi. It has held 50 graduation ceremonies. It is ranked 2nd in East Africa, 17th in Africa, 1367 worldwide. It is so disappointing that Meru University is just ranked in Meru county. So if you compare the two you can see you are a fool. I didnt list the campuses because they are so many and many universities in Kenya came through UoN. Statistic shows that the cost of the last two buildings here is too much to be compared with every asset in Meru university.
