Truth about this Djying business in some instances is that the lowest bid amongst those who compete to play at a certain venue gets the job, its simple economics, and not a matter of what is ethically correct. If Im a club owner I wanna make money, I will hire a dj with the most lowest rate (assuming the Djs Im choosing between can carry a dancefloor and/ keep the bar full ofcourse). Djying requires quite a lot of effort and energy, I know that, and so do you.my point revolves around Djs who are trying to break into the scene, and simply are not aware that by not askin to be paid in cash, they will devalue the Art of Deejying.Im not referring to Small parties where there are no business dealings involved or where theres mutual understanding between you and your fellow Djs e.g when you organise an event amongst yourselves (a group of Djs) to promote the Movement or to have a good time without being hired but to play music.in most cases, aspiring djs are being told they will get paid with exposure rather than actual money, when they are tryin to make the modest living out of their talent. #Bump_The_Cheese_Up indepth
