Trymore Honde has only had one job. For the last 13 years he has cared for, befriended and loved the resident elephants of Bally Vaughan. Patti, the larger of our two elephants, arrived at Bally Vaughan at roughly the same time as Trymore - a scared little orphan in need of love and a friend. Trymore has been there for him and watched him grow until the little elephant now towers over the man. The elephants follows him closely. Unconsciously Trymore strokes a trunk or cheek with affection. His touch is always with them. Occasionally Patti will rest his forehead against Trymores body in an elephant hug . The love and bond between man and animal is strong and deep and obvious to all who meet them. Its very important that our children grow up to know these animals and not as something in a book that they see at school he says quietly. We need to teach people, not for ourselves, but for our children.... If something happens I will have lost my family, my brother ... Im sure you would agree that the world would be a better place if only there were more of this gentle man and these gentle beasts.
