Tube notes: For tubes materials, ONLY solid core, Schedule 40, 4 diameter PVC pipe is allowed. ABS is not allowed. 3 anything is not allowed. Foam core PVC is not allowed. There must be a drain in one end. The other end, the cap end, can have a few holes drilled in it to facilitate scent going out the back. Also, effective immediately for those of you now making tubes, please offset/stagger the holes in the pipe section of the tube. What I mean by that is, please zig-zag them, each hole 2 to 2.5 apart. I dont have new plans out but I will soon. We want to avoid dogs getting their lower jaws/canines caught in two holes if they pick up the tube (and DO work on discouraging your dog from picking up the tube! Bad for dog, bad for rat!) For those of you with existing tubes made to current specs, no need to discard them. They are grandfathered in, and there will be a grace period of one to two years to replace them.
