Tuesday August 12 On my daily drive to town, I come face-to-face - TopicsExpress

Tuesday August 12 On my daily drive to town, I come face-to-face with the massive mountain peak Konahuanui. I sit at the traffic light and have a minute to study him before I begin my uphill climb on the Pali Highway. He commands my respect and he also piques my curiosity. His name means large fat innards, and from his summit you can see from Mount Kaala in the west to Hawaii Kai in the east. A famous battle was fought along his ridge line, and today there are tunnels near that battle site to help me get to work. By the time the light changes, I am always calmed and reassured by his steadfast strength. Aloha, Kanoe
