Tuesday News--- Partly sunny with a high of 50 ------------------------------- Two students admitted to setting off a cloud of pepper-spray in the halls of Mt. Pleasant High School yesterday. The fire department was called to the school to help ventilate the air around 11:00AM. The school was closed shortly after because of the lingering irritant. Later in the day, video surveillance showed a small group of students, playing with the pepper spray canister. After identifying them, the students admitted to spraying it, while trying to figure out how it worked. No one was hurt - school will go on as scheduled today. United Nations human rights experts have called on Detroit officials to restore water to those unable to pay, including those with disabilities or chronic illnesses. Two experts visiting Detroit to observe the effect of water service shutoffs said Monday that shutoffs affect the poorest and most vulnerable. They say it discriminates against Detroits majority black population. A 27-year old Gratiot County man has been arrested in connection with the Friday robbery of the Chemical Bank on Wright Ave. in Alma. Police originally stopped a vehicle matching the description of the get-away vehicle Friday in St. Louis but let the man go after he answered questions satisfactorily. Further investigation after the stop led police back to the man who was arrested. Sports: The Detroit Red Wings look to continue their strong start tonight at they visit Montreal. The Wings are 3-1-1 on the young season.
