Tuesday October 21, 2014 The Cairo Police Department investigated a 2 car accident at the intersection of State Route 23 and 23B near the Banking and Stewart’s Shop area. The operator of a box truck was ticketed after traveling east on State Route 23, striking a van that had the right of way at the intersection, and sending the van on to the guide rail of the West Bound lane facing East Bound traffic. Injuries appeared to be minor and one vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
