Tuesday October 6, 2014 Things here have been going okay. Trying to get back to normal. Even as I type that it still seems weird to me. What is normal? My normal might not be your normal. I dont really know what I mean anymore by normal. I guess its more about change. Somethings have such an impact on your life that it completely throws you for a loop. October 26 , 2014 will be 6 months for us. Thats half a year. Oh, how I am grateful for the 6 month mark and all the improvement that Ashley has made. How we as a family have not completely lost our minds or our way. Takes a lot of praying on our part and with the help of others. I cannot wait for the year mark to see what is in store for us. I see the improvement in Ashley and even though some days she cant. We are all here to support her. Im proud of her friends that has stuck by her. Even sometimes her emotions are hard to deal with. I had a very smart person tell this ..... Yall had 5 1\2 months to deal shes only been awake for 2 1\2 of those months. It sunk in and was like a lightbulb moment for me. I realize then it was a rollercoaster ride for her. She has to deal and we are here to completely support her and be that shoulder to cry on. No one ever wants their child to go through pain or something so tragic. You feel like as a parent you have failed. But its life and sometimes life is just hard. Doesnt hurt any less though. I feel the pain like any other parent in this world. I guess on improvements Ash is getting stronger....physically. The emotional part its day by day. Shes a walking, talking, breathing miracle. Even though our life has changed forever ....I dont think I would have it any other way. It has made us the people who we are today. This will make me and Ashley a better nurse for the future. We have buckets full of compassion. But like anything if you want something you have to work for it. We both are ready to finish school. If you dream it, you can achieve it. Thanks for all the prayers .....past,present and future ones ♥♥♥♥
